" Two small bleached rooms with lime, ceiled out of rough wood, furnished with beds of wild cherry tree and large chairs braided with straw ": George Sand described her thatched cottage-refuge of Gargilesse. Her small daughter restored carefully while putting at it in scene many objects familiar of her grandmother.
